A school sanctioned by the central government back in 2012-13 has yet to be completed almost 10 years on, the Siju unit of the Garo Students Union (GSU) said today.
In a letter to the South Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner, the pressure group said that the school was sanctioned Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) and was meant to be a ‘model school’.
The GSU blamed “negligence” on the part of either the contractor or the state government for the incomplete school buildings.
If completed, the school could become a hub for education in the region, it added through the letter.
