Jowai’s garbage woes continue and the matter was raised today, the 159th death anniversary of Jaintia war hero Kiang Nangbah, with Chief Minister Conrad Sangma.
Green-Tech Foundation, through a letter, called for action over the piles of garbage in Iawmusiang and other parts of the West Jaintia Hills headquarters, a problem that is causing a 21st century headache for the populace.
The issue stems from opposition to a proposed landfill outside the town that would cater to the waste produced by Jowai.
