The famous ‘Midnight Swim’, organised by Forever Young, will go ahead this year on New Year’s Eve but will only be open to those who have been doubly vaccinated against Covid-19.
The 24th iteration of this event will be held as usual at Crinoline Swimming Pool to bring in the New Year.
Five and a half tonnes of ice will be placed inside the pool. “Participants are requested not to take any kind of intoxicants before taking part in the event otherwise the challenge will be lost,” Forever Young general secretary M Thabah said in a press release today.
Participants will have to have had both doses of the Covid vaccine, as stipulated by the East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner, Thabah added.
