Several NGOs of Phulbari in West Garo Hills have expressed their anger at the proposed election to the regional unit of the Garo Students Union while standing by the current president, Francewell Marak.
In a press release sent yesterday, the NGOs condemned the move of the Dadenggre unit of the interim body of the GSU for announcing elections.
“The term interim means temporary so how could they announce an election without the consent of the central executive committee? It seems someone with political nexus is playing a nasty game for their self interest,” said the NGOs through a press release.
The fellow pressure groups stressed that they would not allow such unethical and biased elections to be conducted in Phulbari.
