The inaugural ceremony of an international conference on “Integrated Agriculture, Natural Farming, Biodiversity Conservation and Rural Bio-Entrepreneurship under Changing Climate Scenario” was held at the Kyrdemkulai campus of the College of Agriculture (CAU-I), Kyrdemkulai, Ri-Bhoi, today.
It was jointly organized by National Academy of Agricultural Sciences (NAAS), International Union of Organic Agriculture, Shillong, and College of Agriculture (CAU-I), Kyrdemkulai.
More than 200 representatives from 21 states in India and four countries abroad have submitted their research findings and 50 delegates were present physically with the others participating online.
Trilochan Mohapatra, president of the NAAS emphasised climate resilient agro-techniques for the sustainable development of farming community in the 21st century. Technical sessions were followed and a dedicated farmers’ platform as well as young researchers` forum has been scheduled for the three-day conference.
