The Vigilance Awareness Week observed by the ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Umiam under the theme “Independent India @ 75: Self Reliance with Integrity” concluded today with a pledge taking ceremony which emphasizes on the roles and responsibilities of every citizen to keep a strict vigil for good governance.
Corruption has been one of the major obstacles in the development of the country and to imbibe the spirit of integrity, an oath taking ceremony was administered by Dr Arnab Sen, Principal Scientist of the institute.
Speaking on the occasion Director of the Institute, Dr V.K Mishra said week is observed to awaken the consciousness within a person and not to be a part of any practice which the consciousness does not permit.
Prizes were also distributed to participants who took part in various competitions such as poster making, slogan writing and essay competition on the theme through online mode.
