There was another Covid-related death in East Garo Hills today, the second in the last three days.
Statewide, that was the only fatality linked to the disease but there were 65 new cases and 101 recoveries as well.
The person who died of the disease in East Garo Hills was unvaccinated, the Health Department informed.
East Khasi Hills recorded 43 new cases today and there were 22 between the other 10 districts.
East Khasi Hills accounted for 55 recoveries, West Khasi Hills 22 and 24 between the other nine districts.
There are now 740 active Covid-19 cases in the state. East Khasi Hills alone accounts for 474 active cases, West Khasi Hills 144, West Jaintia Hills 51, Ri-Bhoi 36, West Garo Hills 16, East Jaintia Hills six, South West Khasi Hills five, East Garo Hills two, South West Garo Hills two, North Garo Hills two and South Garo Hills two.
In all, Meghalaya has had 83,079 Covid-19 cases, of which 740 are active, 80,900 have recovered and 1,439 have died from the virus. The recovery rate is 97.38 percent. The fatality is 1.73 percent. The seven-day rolling average for new cases is 71.29 and for new deaths is 2.00.
