In a daring act involving unknown miscreants, three vehicles were halted at a roadblock on their way to Killing, Ri-Bhoi, last night, with the bandits able to make off with thousands of rupees in cash from their victims.
The incident took place last night at around 10:30pm.
According to police, the three vehicles were of a mixed bag – a Scorpio, Hyundai i10 and dumper truck.
The robbers made off with Rs 50,000 from the i10 and Rs 15,000 from the Scorpio, as well as two mobile phones.
A complaint was filed by the victims at Khanapara Police Station and the authorities are trying to nab the miscreants, who fled the scene of the crime when they spotted more vehicles approaching.
