There were just 55 new cases of Covid-19 recorded in the 10 districts of Meghalaya outside East Khasi Hills today, the lowest single-day figure since April 29.
In all there were 193 new cases in the state today, along with 172 recoveries and one fatality.
The lone death, of an unvaccinated person, was in West Khasi Hills, the Health Department informed.
East Khasi Hills recorded 138 new cases today, West Khasi Hills 13, Ri-Bhoi 11 and 31 between the other eight districts.
East Khasi Hills accounted for 88 recoveries, West Garo Hills 22, West Jaiñtia Hills 16, West Khasi Hills 15, Ri-Bhoi 14 and 17 between the other six districts.
There are now 2,295 active Covid-19 cases in the state. East Khasi Hills alone accounts for 1,253 active cases, West Khasi Hills 309, Ri-Bhoi 249, West Jaiñtia Hills 189, South West Khasi Hills 120, West Garo Hills 78, East Jaiñtia Hills 45, East Garo Hills 22, South West Garo Hills 19, North Garo Hills seven and South Garo Hills 4.
In all, Meghalaya has had 76,504 Covid-19 cases, of which 2,295 are active, 72,886 have recovered and 1,323 have died from the virus. The recovery rate dipped marginally to 95.27 percent. The fatality rate stayed level at 1.73 percent. The seven-day rolling average for new cases declined to 203.57 and fell for new deaths to 3.86.
