A 59-year old man lost his life after he accidentally fell into a well at Chasingre, a few kilometres from Tura.
The body of Telleswar Marak of Chandmary was found by local villagers when they went to draw water from the well after which the police were informed of the tragedy. While details of how he fell are still unclear, the body was later recovered by policemen who reached the spot.
The incident apparently took place yesterday though the exact details will only be ascertained after the post mortem.
“We have recovered the body after which it was identified and a post mortem examination has been done. The body has been handed over to the family after formalities. We will know the cause of death after the PM,” West Garo Hills Superintendent of Police, Vivekananda Singh said.
