MLA of Nongstoin Constituency, Macmillan Byrsat, has urged Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong, who also in charge of the Health Department, to speed up the upgrade of Nongkynjang Sub-Centre into a full-fledged Primary Health Centre.
Byrsat expressed that since inception, Nongkynjang Sub-Centre has served more than 30 villages in the area whose population has grown rapidly.
He also mentioned that the proposal for upgrading Nongkynjang Sub-Centre was made and duly approved by the government but, till date, the same is yet to be sanctioned due to the availability of land since the area where the sub-centre was constructed does not have the requisite area.
However, the landowners, who gave land for the sub-centre, are also willing to donate more so that the PHC can be built.
