Only two Covid-related fatalities were reported from Meghalaya in the last 24 hours, the lowest single-day figure since July 11. There were also 231 new cases and 362 recoveries.
East Khasi Hills and West Jaiñtia Hills recorded one death each. Both were among unvaccinated people, the Health Department informed.
East Khasi Hills recorded 116 new cases today, West Khasi Hills 47, South West Khasi Hills 34 and 34 among the other eight districts.
East Khasi Hills accounted for 202 recoveries, Ri-Bhoi 56, West Jaiñtia Hills 37, West Khasi Hills 22 and 45 among the other seven districts.
There are now 2,682 active Covid-19 cases in the state. East Khasi Hills alone accounts for 1,408 active cases, Ri-Bhoi 378, West Khasi Hills 279, West Jaiñtia Hills 220, West Garo Hills 135, South West Khasi Hills 131, East Jaiñtia Hills 32, South Garo Hills 30, South West Garo Hills 27, North Garo Hills 24 and East Garo Hills 18.
In all, Meghalaya has had 74,817 Covid-19 cases, of which 2,682 are active, 70,841 have recovered and 1,294 have died from the virus. The recovery rate has increased to 94.69 percent. The fatality rate stayed level at 1.73 percent. The seven-day rolling average for new cases fell to 261.71 and dropped for new deaths to 5.29.
