Meghalaya police arrested one Langdon Sangma from the village of Chinabat, close to the border with East Garo Hills, and recovered a pistol from his possession today afternoon.
The incident took place at about 3:30pm with the arrest being possible due to the joint efforts of both EGH and South Garo Hills police.
According to sources, the arrested person is a resident of Mandalgre in West Garo Hills. The arrest took place at Silchotggre, Chinabat.
A 0.32 pistol was recovered from the arrested person who was then handed over, along with the weapon, to the Rongram outpost in WGH for further legal action.
