Given the hardships faced by poor families in paying school fees owing to the disruption caused by the coronavirus pandemic, the South West Khasi Hills unit of the Khasi Students Union has shot off a letter to the District School Education Officer on the matter.
Pulljohn Wanniang, the KSU’s unit assistant education secretary, said that school fees is just one parents are struggling with in these difficult times and some relief has to be provided until the situation returns to normal.
The pressure group has also asked the Deputy Commissioner and MLAs to intervene into the matter.
