Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma will meet his Assam counterpart, Himanta Biswa Sarma, tomorrow evening in Dispur for an unofficial chat regarding the long-pending boundary dispute between the two states.
“I will be meeting the Assam Chief Minister tomorrow evening, at more of an unofficial level, as I have mentioned many times before,” Sangma said today.
Even before Sarma took over as Chief Minister earlier this year, the two had been discussing the vexed border issue, which has been a thorn in the side of Meghalaya since it achieved statehood 49 years ago.
Tomorrow’s meeting will also give the two CMs a chance to fix a date for a formal meeting between the two states.
This will be the second meeting between Sangma and Sarma after the latter took over as Assam Chief Minister in May.
