Lafarge Umiam Mining Pvt Ltd (LUMPL) donated Covid-19 gear to the Sohra Community Corona Care Centre on Friday as the town and its surrounding area witness a steep rise in cases of the disease.
The company donated 100 full-body PPE, 350 N95 facemasks, 200 gloves and two disinfectant sprayers to the centre, which is being set up to assist the local administration.
Sub-Divisional Officer, Alexander S Mukhim, thanked Lafarge for its support, according to a company press release today.
The firm has been making several donations during the pandemic and had earlier given four oxygen cylinders to Shella Primary Health Centre and two to the Nongtrai Dispensary to ensure that the two villages are equipped to handle the Covid-19 crisis in their communities.
