Tura MP Agatha K Sangma paid a visit to Baghmara, South Garo Hills, today to check on Covid-19 preparedness and to take a stock of the situation in the district.
She was accompanied by Rongara Siju MLA Rakkam Sangma and met several officials, including Deputy Commissioner SF Hamid.
Agatha visited the Corona Care Centre and Baghmara Civil Hospital and assured her full support to the district administration and health authorities.
Later, a review meeting, comprising the leaders and officials of the district took place.
Agatha was also briefed by the DC on the steps taken so far and future strategy about vaccination, containment and community mobilization. Furthermore, she requested all the citizens of the district to follow Covid appropriate behaviour to ensure prevention of the disease from overwhelming the district.
