The Meghalaya government has declared April 12 as a paid holiday for all public and private commercial and industrial enterprises, including shops and factories, falling under the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council to enable voters to exercise their franchise on that day. This was informed by the Secretary of the Labour Department through a press release today.
