NGOs in West Garo Hills have written to the Deputy Commissioner asking him to review the Covid-19 protocols as they apply to buses and other passenger carrying vehicles, which, they claim, are charging double the usual fare without reducing the number of passengers in the vehicles.
The letter was signed by the Garo State Movement Committee (GSMC), Mother’s Union and A’chik Holistic Awakening Movement (AHAM) of Dalu.
The three groups also petitioned the DC to halt commercial truck traffic during daylight hours through Barengapara as they cause traffic jams.
