Shillong, Jun 30: Rotary Club Shillong Heritage (RCSH) launched its WINS (Wash-In-School) Project at the Loreto Convent School yesterday. The project was implemented under the Rotary Water and Sanitation Programme.
The project was inaugurated by District Governor of RI District 3240, Rotarian Dr. Debasish Das who was the chief guest and Sister Mercia D’Souza, the Principal of Loreto Convent School who was the guest of honour.
President of the RCSH, Rotarian Gideon Kharmawphlang and members of the club were also present at the programme.
This WINS programme was the beginning of a long term commitment of the RCSH towards the dissemination of community awareness of hygiene.
RCSH said it is committed towards the development of leadership skills and community service in young minds and hearts towards which the Club has also initiated the establishment of the Interact Club in the school.
The process for the same is almost completed and both the Rotary Club and the school are eagerly awaiting the receipt of the certificate from RI South Asia Office.
The Interact Club will be styled Interact Club of Loreto Convent School.
