Shillong, Aug 25: Ri-Bhoi College and University of Science & Technology Meghalaya (USTM) will host Khelo India Samvaad (Youth Connect) cum PM Dialogue programmes on August 27 as part of National Sports Day celebrations.
According to My Bharat Ri-Bhoi, National Sports Day is celebrated on August 29 marking the birth anniversary of Major Dhyan Chand. This year’s special programme — Khelo India Samvaad — will be held on Thursday.
Yuva Connect will be organised in two colleges in every district.
In Ri-Bhoi, USTM will host a Type A event where participants will be visible on the PM broadcast and Ri-Bhoi College will host a Type B event for viewing the PM speech.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually address over 8 lakh youth across 1,600 locations. A local youth interaction will also be held between My Bharat volunteers and sportspersons, focusing on transformation of sports infrastructure in the last 12 years.
At Youth Samvaad participants can share ideas on the future of Indian sports and Viksit Bharat, focusing on strengthening sports ecosystem, nurturing talent for 2036 Olympics, youth leadership in governance and empowerment for Viksit Bharat.
The upcoming National Games in Meghalaya will also be the highlight.
