Shillong, Oct 18: With an aim to put Jaintia Hills’ hidden gems on the world map, a Photography Exhibition themed ‘Discover Jaintia: Nature’s Own Land’ was held at Thlumuwi on the Jowai-Dawki road near Amlarem yesterday.
Organised by the Jaintia Tourism and Environment Society (JTES) – established in 2006 – in collaboration with Samsawa Production, the exhibition showcased unexplored mountains, waterfalls and natural landscapes of Jaintia Hills.
Prizes were distributed to winners of the photo competition held over the past few days. Altogether 22 participants, including 17 males and 5 females, took part.
Participants included students from Kiang Nangbah Government College, Jowai and Jaintia Eastern College, Khliehriat, besides participants from West Bengal and other parts of the state.
