Shillong, Jul 29: The state government on Wednesday launched a district-level online grievance redressal portal in East Khasi Hills to make public services more accessible and accountable.
Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong inaugurated the portal developed by the district administration. It allows residents to lodge complaints online and track them until resolution.
Tynsong said the platform will serve as a direct channel between citizens and the administration, and expressed hope that other districts will adopt similar systems. He added that complaints will be acknowledged by the DC’s office and forwarded to the concerned department for action, with real-time monitoring of status.
The portal complements other decentralisation efforts like BDO offices handling driving licence services.
Tynsong said existing provisions under the Meghalaya Right to Public Services Act will ensure officials meet deadlines and face action for delays. “Our objective is to take government services to the doorstep of every citizen,” he said.
