Shillong, Jul 18: Twenty-nine students of Jowai constituency were felicitated today under the second Wailadmiki Shylla Initiative for securing 85 per cent and above in the SSLC and HSSLC examinations.
Organised by the National People’s Youth Front at the District Library Auditorium, Mynthong, the event honoured 18 SSLC and 11 HSSLC achievers.
Health and Sports Minister Wailadmiki Shylla, said the token of appreciation carried “big expectations.”
“I hope you will use your education to contribute positively to society and to our district, in whatever profession you choose,” Shylla told the students.
Also present were JHADC Nominated MDC O. Lamin and NPYF State Unit General Secretary Pynhun Ranghang. The initiative aims to encourage academic excellence and motivate students in the constituency to pursue higher education.
