Shillong, Jul 2: Two faculty members of the University of Science and Technology Meghalaya’s (USTM) have been acknowledged as among the world’s top 5 percent scientists in the 2025 Scirank global registry.
The prestigious recognition celebrates the exceptional work and contributions of Dr. Yugal Kishore Mohanta from the Department of Applied Biology, and Dr. Mohit L. Deb from the Department of Chemistry.
The inclusion of these two scholars in the Scirank global registry is a testament to their significant impact on the scientific community. Scirank utilises robust bibliometric indicators like research productivity, citation impact, and academic influence to evaluate researchers, making this accolade a significant benchmark of excellence.
USTM Chancellor Mahbubul Hoque congratulated the faculty members for their achievement, highlighting that it reflects the university’s unwavering commitment to fostering a strong research ecosystem. He stated, “This achievement is a matter of immense pride not only for USTM but also for the entire northeastern region.”
Vice Chancellor Prof. G.D. Sharma expressed pride in their inclusion in the global registry and said USTM’s dedication to innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration has resulted in numerous publications and international partnerships.
