Shillong, Jun 24: Basic first aid training was organised for the officers and personnel of the Shillong Traffic Police (STP) to empower them with the skills necessary to respond effectively in emergency situations.
The training was organised in collaboration with the office of the District Medical & Health Officer (DMHO).
The training aimed to equip traffic personnel with essential life-saving skills to provide immediate assistance during the ‘Golden Hour’ and medical emergencies until professional medical help arrives.
Topics covered at the training are Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) techniques, emergency response and casualty assessment, management of bleeding and wounds, fracture immobilisation and bandaging methods, safe handling and transportation of accident victims and principle of basic first aid.
