Nongpoh, Jun 20: Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh arrived in Meghalaya on Saturday, where he was welcomed by state officials and leaders from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Upon his arrival at Umroi Airport, Singh was greeted by several senior government officials, including Principal Secretary F.R. Kharkongor, Ri-Bhoi Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Saini, and Superintendent of Police Giri Prasad. BJP leaders, Alexander Laloo Hek and state spokesperson Mariahom Kharkrang, were also present to receive the minister.
Tight security measures were in place as Singh made his way to Shillong, where he will participate in the IAF’s observance of International Yoga Day at Upper Shillong on Sunday morning.
