Shillong, Jun 19: Voice of the People Party (VPP) MDC from Mawkyrwat, Pynkhrawboklin Kharjahrin, has officially resigned from his position as an executive member of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC).
His resignation follows weeks of speculation and rumours regarding his future within the VPP. The announcement of his resignation was confirmed after Governor Chandrashekhar H Vijayashankar, accepted Kharjahrin’s resignation letter.
However, it is still unclear about the reasons for Kharjahrin’s resignation.
According to a notification issued by the State Government’s District Council Affairs (DCA) Department through the Commissioner & Secretary, the Governor has accepted the resignation of Pynkhrawboklin Kharjahrin from the post of Executive Member of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council under Rule 21(1)(b) of the Assam and Meghalaya Autonomous Districts (Constitution of District Councils) Rules, 1951.
