Shillong, May 13: Senior BJP leader and Pynthorumkhrah MLA A.L. Hek has condemned the killing of three civilians, including church leaders, in an ambush between the Kotlen and Kotzim areas of Kangpokpi district in Manipur, describing the incident as a “heinous terror act.”
Hek said that there can be no justification for such brutal violence and asserted that those responsible must be brought to justice without any delay.
“Religious leaders have remained a vital source of hope and strength for communities during prolonged unrest,” he said, adding, by targeting innocent civilians, this violence represents a deeply disturbing and inhumane act that warrants the strongest condemnation.
Hek said that violence only deepens wounds, prolongs suffering, and weakens the already fragile bonds between communities affected by ongoing conflict.
He urged the central and state governments to act with urgency, wisdom, and fairness to restore peace and public confidence in the region.
Calling for strict actions against the perpetrators, he insisted that justice must be delivered not only swiftly but visibly, reassuring affected communities and preventing further escalation of violence.
