Shillong, Apr 30: The office of the Chief Engineer, PHE has informed that there will be an emergency shutdown of the Greater Shillong Water Supply Scheme for 12 hours on May 1, 2026.
The shutdown will be effective from 9 am to 9 pm due to immediate corrective maintenance of 33KV/ 6.6 KV line for the pumping system.
During this period there will be no water supply to Shillong city and its adjoining areas, the office said and assured that every attempt will be made to restore water supply to the public at the earliest.
