Shillong, Mar 29: The Nokma Sani Union and NGOs of the Chokpot area visited relief camps housing internally displaced persons (IDPs) in West Garo Hills on Saturday.
During the recent communal conflict earlier this month, many Garo families from Chibinang Chandigre village were compelled to abandon their homes and are currently taking shelter in relief camps.
Deeply concerned about their situation, the civil society groups visited the camps and extended their support by providing donations while also offering prayers for their safety, well-being and early return to normal life.
