Shillong, Jan 18: A regional multi-stakeholder convergence workshop on developing India’s strategy for Artificial Intelligence in healthcare was held on Saturday here.
The workshop was hosted by Shillong Medical College under the aegis of the Health and Family Welfare Department. It formed part of a national consultation process led by the central government’s National Health Authority (NHA), with technical assistance from the World Health Organisation – South-East Asia Regional Office (WHO-SEARO).
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Principal Secretary of the Health Department, Sampath Kumar, WHO-SEARO Regional Adviser Karthik Adapa, NHA CEO Sunik Kumar Barnwal and NHA Director Vikram Pagaria were among those who spoke.
Participants were from central and state governments, academia, healthcare institutions, industry and development partners who engaged in structured discussions to provide inputs on implementation priorities, resource requirements and institutional roles for the strategy.
