Shillong, Jan 13: The East Khasi Hills police on Tuesday said that they are waiting for the post mortem report on the death of Bipul Inghi a casual employee of the School of Technology in North Eastern Hill University (NEHU).
“This post mortem report will prove whether the incident was homicidal or an accidental fall,” East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police Vivek Syiem said.
Syiem clarified that Inghi did not work as an employee of a personal security agency in NEHU but was a casual employee of the School of Technology in the University.
The Superintendent of Police said that the victim had previously worked as a private security personal in NEHU from 2011-2012.
Syiem also said that the incident occurred after he had a fun with his friends on January 6 at around 7:30 pm.
The Superintendent of Police said that the victim fell on the back of his head which led to his injuries.
Inghi was taken to Supercare Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on January 8.
The family noticed injury marks and blood clots on his body after he was brought home, raising suspicions about the cause of death.
An FIR has been lodged at Mawlai Police Station, and a post-mortem examination was conducted at Civil Hospital, Nongpoh.
