Shillong, Dec 2: A two-day workshop on World of Work (WoW) was conducted at the Government Girls Higher Secondary School, here aimed at realising the goals of the National Education Policy (NEP), 2020.
The two-day workshop, which concluded today, was organised by the National Assessment Centre PARAKH, NCERT, New Delhi and the Directorate of Educational Research & Training (DERT).
The workshop was designed to orient students towards both traditional and non-traditional career paths including 36 emerging job sectors of Ministry of Skill Development, the global AI trend, that are gaining prominence in a rapidly evolving global economy.
Aligned with the Government of India’s larger vision to “Mend the Skill of India” the program aimed at nurturing informed, agile, and adaptable learners equipped for the jobs of tomorrow. The workshop saw the participation of 100 class 9 and 10 students and the respective class teachers of the school.
Prof. Indrani Bhaduri, CEO and Head PARAKH & Educational Survey Division, NCERT, New Delhi, delivered the keynote address and stressed upon the relevance of world of work and future preparedness and readiness of secondary school students through awareness, guidance and training on choosing the right emerging career paths that are relevant in today’s progressive society based on students’ interest and passion.
