Shillong, Nov 8: Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma today took part in a prayer and concrete pouring ceremony for the first pillar of the upcoming Additional Secretariat Complex in Dakopgre, Tura.
The Chief Minister termed the day auspicious and important and thanked religious leaders, Reverend Dilseng and Father Januarius, for their prayers and blessings.
He said the Additional Secretariat will serve the people of the Garo Hills and the state in many positive ways.
The Chief Minister also inspected the ongoing works and expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of construction being undertaken.
West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner of West Garo Hills Vibhor Aggarwal, Superintendent of Police Abraham T. Sangma, and senior government officials were present on the occasion.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister also inspected the ongoing works at P.A. Sangma Sports Complex. He reviewed the progress of various components of the project, including the indoor stadium and the indoor swimming pool.
The complex is envisioned as a world-class sports hub featuring multiple facilities, including a football stadium, indoor stadium and indoor swimming pool. Once completed, it will serve as a premier centre for training, competition, and sports development in the Garo Hills region.
