Shillong, Sep 25: The senior men’s selection committee of the Meghalaya Cricket Association has selected 15 players and standbys for the first three matches of the BCCI’s Col CK Nayudu Trophy, a multi-day tournament for U-23 men.
The season will begin on 16 October with Meghalaya facing Baroda on the latter’s home turf. Meghalaya will then proceed to Jammu to face Jammu & Kashmir from 26 October before returning home where they will host Goa from 2 November in Shillong.
Meghalaya will once again be reliably captained by Kevin Christopher, while Josiah Momin has been named as vice-captain.
Meghalaya’s preparatory camp for the Col CK Nayudu Trophy will begin in Tura on 29 September and run until 12 October. Players, standbys and support staff from Khasi-Jaintia Hills should report at Polo Ground, Shillong, on 28 September at 8am for departure to Tura. Those from Garo Hills (other than Tura) should report in Tura on 28 September. The team will then leave Tura directly on 13 October for Baroda.
