Mawkyrwat, Sep 23: The Hynñiewtrep National Youth Front (HNYF) Southern Border Area has warned coke laden truck against plying through the weak Umpung bridge along the Balat-Mawsynram road.
Members of the pressure group took a decision today after meeting with the Executive Engineer (EE) Mawsynram PWD to discuss on the status of the bridge.
According to the HNYF, the Umpung bridge is experiencing structural weakness. While the district administration had imposed Section 163 BNSS prohibiting heavy vehicles with over 9 tonnes of load, coke laden trucks continue to violate the order, the pressure groups said.
The HNYF has warned heavy laden vehicles, particularly trucks carrying coke, against passing through the road stating this will deteriorate it further.
