Shillong, Sep 14: The state government has clarified that students applying for the newly launched Chief Minister Scholarship Scheme can avail of the Post Matric ST Scholarship or any central/state schemes.
“Availing this scholarship will not make you ineligible for the Post Matric ST Scholarship or any central/state schemes,” the Chief Minister stated.
Earlier, there was confusion about the CM Scholarship Scheme as certain reports are going viral that those applying for this scheme won’t be eligible to apply for other schemes.
Students and their parents were sceptical of applying for this new scheme since they would be ineligible for other central schemes which are offering a bigger amount.
“We also heard about such rumours but many have already applied for the new Scheme,” a owner of a cyber cafe in Laitumkhrah said.
The CM Scholarship Scheme 2025 of Rs 6,000 annually support for domiciled students from Class 11 to PhD level in recognised full time courses.
The last date for applying this scheme is September 30, 2025.
