Shillong, Aug 24: The South West Khasi Hills unit of the United Democratic Party (UDP) held its general meeting at Mawkyrwat and elected new office bearers for 2025-2029.
Ranikor MLA Pius Marwein was elected as the UDP district president, while Jeslanroy Nongsiej, the UDP candidate in this year’s MDC election, was elected as the general secretary.
The party also elected other office bearers, namely: advisers Trelling Marwein and Premus Thongni, working presidents Narayan Thongni and FD Ramsiej, vice-presidents Kross Nongbsaw and Kal D Shira and joint secretaries G Thongni and S Marbaniang.
