Mawkyrwat, Aug 7: A 21-year-old man was found dead on the banks of the Umngi river in South West Khasi Hills on Wednesday, five days after he went missing from his home in Domthrin-Mawten in Mawkyrwat.
A missing report was filed with the district police by the father of the deceased, Kyrshanbok Marngar on August 2.
His body was recovered, face down covered on the banks of the river at around 10: 20 am, police said.
The Officer-in-Charge of Mawsynram Police Station handled the formalities and the body was handed over to the relatives, police said.
