Adviser to the Education Department Himalaya Shangpliang today claimed that 95 per cent of the colleges in the state have welcomed the New Education Policy.
“We hope in the years to come our youth get the kind of education that matched with the rest in the country. I also want to tell our friends who have not welcome the NEP not to play with the future of our youth,” he said.
Stating that the graduate course in the NEP is four years, he said that this will uplift the students and if the old course continues then the students will not get admission for post graduate.
He said those doing the three year course and applying for MA will have to return back and first repeat for another one year which will be a great loss to the youth.
“Let us proceed like the rest of the country. There will always be challenges, but the government has agreed to provide the needs whether in terms of the infrastructure, teachers, etc,” he added.
