In its continued drive against illicit liquor, the Excise Department staff of East Khasi Hills conducted raids in restaurants and stalls in the town and its outskirts where 10 cases were uncovered in July and August, wherein indigenous liquor totalling 117.0 litres and 125.1 litres of IMFL were seized.
Eight persons were arrested in connection with these cases under the Excise Act, a press release informed today.
