A total of 6,859 healthcare workers have received the Covid vaccine in Meghalaya till today.
This is as per the latest data provided by the Union Health Ministry today.
Meghalaya along with the rest of the country launched the Covid vaccination for healthcare workers on January 16.
The second dose of the vaccine is also scheduled to start from February 13 for people who were vaccinated on January 16.
Yesterday, Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan reviewed the status and progress of Covid vaccination with Health Secretaries and NHM Mission Directors of states and union territories, through video conference.
The Union Health Secretary urged the states and union territories to schedule all healthcare workers for vaccination at least once before February 20 and immediately thereafter organise mop-up rounds for them.
He also directed that all frontline workers must be scheduled for vaccination at least once before March 6 and immediately thereafter organise mop-up rounds for them.
The Health Secretary reiterated need for adequate attention to issuance of provisional digital vaccination certificate after the first dose and final certificate after completing the second dose is required to be issued; importance of authentication of beneficiaries and also timely data reconciliation on the CoWIN app.
He further stated that CoWIN 2.0 version will also be released soon.
