Five villages under Namdong C&RD block have resolved to ask the delimitation committee of the Jaiñtia Hills District Autonomous District Council (JHADC) to include them under Namdong-Khanduli MDC constituency.
Residents of Lapangap, Sanaro, Pdemiadaw, Lum Lakhiat and Tamu villages today held a meeting wherein it was decided to ask the delimitation committee on the need to consider the distance of these villages from Barato-Mukroh MDC constituency.
The waheh shnongs said these villages use the Namdong, Khanduli road to commute, which is just about 7 km while the distance to Barato-Mukroh is 30 km.
Stating that the villagers face a number of problems with distance being one of the issues the waheh shnong said that the committee should look into this aspect and include them under the Namdong-Khanduli MDC constituency.
It may be mentioned that the delimitation committee of the JHADC has been tasked to make adjustment of voters in the JHADC constituencies so that there is parity in the number of voters.
