Just days before Christmas and fourth teachers are finding it hard to be in a festive mood as the government has yet to pay their advance salaries for the holiday period.
The Garo Hills unit of the All Meghalaya 4th Teachers Association bemoaned the fact that other state employees have received their advance Christmas salaries but not its members.
“This year the fourth teachers are going to celebrate without salary,” the association’s unit president Tengsrang K Sangma said in a press release.
