The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued orange alerts for four districts in Meghalaya on Saturday.
South West Khasi Hills, West Khasi Hills, Eastern West Khasi Hills and East Khasi Hills are likely to experience thunderstorms with heavy to very heavy rain in isolated areas.
The rest of the state will be under a yellow alert.
Weather forecasts are fluid, however, and the IMD may change its advice when it issues a new update tomorrow.
Today, the heaviest rain was recorded in the area around Mawsynram, with between 70-130mm there. Sohra and Pynursla were in the 40-70mm range.
