Police personnel arrested four individuals in two separate cases on suspicion of drugs charges in Shillong yesterday, both concerning heroin.
Personnel of the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) and Mawlai police station arrested two individuals yesterday from the Inter-State Bus Terminus (ISBT) at Mawlai Mawiong, the Superintendent of Police (City) informed through a press release today.
The two were identified as Ram Singh (29) and Vijay Singh (20). They were carrying nine soap cases containing 110.32g of heroin. Two mobile phones and a two-wheeler that did not have a licence plate were also seized from their possession.
Meanwhile, in Demthring, one Evanjelyne Thongni (30) and John Robert Kharmyndai (22) were arrested after a box containing 11.43g of heroin was found in their possession. Two mobile phones and a two-wheeler (ML 05 L 7620) were also seized.
Two separate police cases have been registered against the suspects at Mawlai and Madanriting police stations respectively.
