Around 30 former Hill State People’s Democratic Party (HSPDP) members who recently resigned from the party will join the Voice of the People’s Party (VPP) on Thursday.
Informing this today, former president of the HSPDP youth wing, Sandondor Ryntathiang, said that some of those slated to join the VPP include founding members of the HSPDP who had fought for the creation of Meghalaya with the party’s late leader Hopingstone Lyngdoh.
Ryntathiang maintained that the pulse of the people is beating with the VPP as the party stands for clean politics and fights for crucial issues.
He also took a dig at the National People’s Party (NPP) and Congress Party, the latter which works with the NPP in the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) but sits on the other side in the Assembly as part of the opposition, which Ryntathiang termed “contradictory”.
