A further 21 new cases of Covid-19 were reported in Meghalaya today. There were also 20 recoveries and no new fatalities.
Of the new cases today, 18 were in East Khasi Hills, two in Ri-Bhoi and one in East Jaiñtia Hills.
Four of the new cases in East Khasi Hills were in the Mawlai Mawroh cluster, along with one each in Laitumkhrah and Nongthymmai. Four returnees in East Khasi Hills and one in East Jaiñtia Hills also tested positive for the disease.
The recoveries were divided between East Khasi Hills (17), Ri-Bhoi (two) and West Garo Hills (one).
In all, Meghalaya has had 13,652 Covid-19 cases, of which 152 are active, 13,357 have recovered and 143 have died from the virus. The recovery rate is 97.84 percent. The fatality rate is 1.05 percent.
The Health Department also informed that around 1,400 Covid tests were carried out in the last 24 hours.
