Shillong, Oct 24: The Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of the Meghalaya Police arrested two suspected drug peddlers, Suma (42) and Sultan Mahammad Mazumder (35), both residents of Silchar, Assam, in East Khasi Hills.
Acting on a tip-off, ANTF sleuths set up a checkpoint at Sohryngkham and detained an Assam-registered vehicle (AS 11 EC 3733). Four soap boxes containing 54.13 grammes of heroin were seized from their possession, valued at approximately Rs 50 lakh.
The accused were handed over to Sohryngkham Police Outpost and an FIR has been filed for further action.
